Join us for an Adventurous South African Game, birding and Reptile Safari in Mpumalanga. Mpumalanga in South Africa often referred to as "Big Game Country" is the setting for dozens of sanctuaries teeming with wildlife, birds and reptiles.

Among them, the Kruger National Park is world renowned, as are several of the luxurious private reserves on its western boundary. The entire area of Mpumalanga offers exceptional opportunities for bird-watching, herping, hiking, game drives and fishing. Streams once panned for gold have become the haunts of eager anglers and lazy trout.

Mpumalanga is steeped in the history of pioneers, hunters and fortune seekers, fascinating gold rush towns abound. A special, additional dimension occurs in the Middleveld region which is inhabited by Ndebele people, notable for their traditional costumes and attractively decorated houses.

Monday (9 April 2007)

Early wake up for breakfast

Depart for African Reptiles and Venom premises for Venomous Snake Handling Course

Lunch

Depart for Hazyview, Mpumalanga.

Book into Kingfisher Lodge, situated at Sabi River, Hazyview.

Dinner and overnight

Day One - Tuesday (10 April 2007)

Day Two to Day Five Wednesday to Saturday (11 April 2007 to 14 April 2007)

Early wake up for Breakfast

Explore the lowveld looking for reptiles, amphibians, birds and other wildlife to photgraph

Day trips into the Kruger National Park for game viewing

Visit God's Window, Pilgrims Rest, Potholes and the Cheetah Reserve

Be on call for the Parks Board to respond to any problem snake calls they may receive, which will be passed onto various snake catchers, who we will be in contract with. This is give everybody in the group an opportunity to capture snakes.

Then we will depart for Komatipoort, where we will again have the opportunity to explore this diverse habitat, as well as be in close proximity to the Crocodile Bridge entrance to the Kruger National Park, where we will enjoy game viewing safaris.

Should the weather permit, we will enjoy a day out tiger fishing, this fish is world renowned for it tremendous fighting ability.

Night time will see us cruising around looking for nocturnal reptiles
